A useful unit of analysis
Begin with a task, such as drafting a report, checking a source, or making a decision. A job title can hide how different these activities are.
- Inputs: Is the information available, relevant, and reliable?
- Evaluation: Can someone judge whether the output is correct?
- Consequences: What happens if the output is wrong?
- Context: What knowledge is difficult to capture in a prompt?
What would count as evidence?
Compare the same task with and without AI. Record time spent, errors, review effort, and whether the person can explain the result. Look for studies that describe their tasks, participants, and limitations.
